About Us
Wool & Caravan exists to bring the richness of Afghan craftsmanship to homes around the world while empowering the artisans who keep these traditions alive. We connect skilled Afghan weavers with global buyers who value authenticity, offering hand-knotted rugs and kilims through a business built on trust, transparency, and shared opportunity.
What We Stand For
We believe Afghan weaving deserves a global stage. Every rug we offer carries a story: the hands that knotted it, the land that provided its wool, and the culture that shaped its patterns. By working directly with artisans and family workshops, we help preserve ancient techniques, support local livelihoods, and strengthen economic independence within Afghan communities.
What We Offer
Our collection brings together hand-knotted rugs and kilims from Afghanistan's most storied weaving regions, including Aqcha, Andkhoy, Herat, and Mazar-e-Sharif. Each piece is made from 100% natural wool, colored with traditional vegetable dyes, and woven using techniques passed down through generations.
Because we source directly from local weavers, every rug in our collection is one of a kind. No two pieces are identical. When a rug sells, it is gone for good. This is what makes owning a Wool & Caravan rug feel personal: you are not buying a product made in batches, you are bringing home a singular work of art.
Our Commitment
We are committed to fair trade, ethical sourcing, and building a business where Afghan artisans can thrive. For our customers, we ensure authenticity, quality, and a personal shopping experience. For our weavers, we provide consistent work, fair compensation, and access to a global audience.
Behind Wool & Caravan stands our family's thirty-year legacy as Javed Carpets, three decades of real relationships, real craftsmanship, and deep respect for the people behind every knot.
More Than a Store
This store is more than a place to buy a rug. It is a bridge between cultures, a celebration of Afghan identity, and a quiet invitation to bring a piece of that heritage into your home.
100% Afghan, Always
We only sell rugs and kilims made in Afghanistan. Every single piece in our collection is hand-knotted or handwoven by Afghan artisans, using Afghan wool and traditional methods rooted in the country's centuries-old weaving heritage. We are not a marketplace for rugs from other regions, and we will not compromise on that.
If a rug is in our collection, it is Afghan. That promise is the foundation of everything we do.
